Another grabaseat flight, this time from Christchurch to Queenstown for $2 return. I flew to Christchurh from Auckland that morning in time to catch my next flight to Queenstown, which was covered in fog. We faced the prospect of diverting to Invercargill or heading back to Christchuch, however the fog managed to move just in time for us to land.

Pippa Blake embarked on possibly the most significant journey of her life following the tragic and untimely death of her husband, Sir Peter Blake. Pippa Blake's paintings embody both physical journeys, often water borne, and the metaphorical journey she herself is on.

Given the long association of Sir Peter and Pippa Blake with Louis Vuitton, Pippa Blake's exhibition is a natural partner event for the Louis Vuitton Trophy Auckland (9-21 March 2010). With its spectacular waterfront, Auckland will provide an excellent platform to showcase the Louis Vuitton Trophy, inspired by the Louis Vuitton Pacific Series held in Auckland 2009. The inaugural Louis Vuitton Trophy regatta was held in Nice last November and following its success, the second regatta commences on 9 March 2010. This duel will see eight international teams battle over a fortnight and is set to be the main attraction of the Auckland Festival of Sails.

The Pippa Blake: Journey exhibition will be open from 5-28 March at Louis Vuitton Queen Street from 10am-6pm daily.

After having my offer accepted in the Air New Zealand Grabaseat Silent Auction which closed last week, I flew to Cairns this morning for a weekend getaway. After a 5½ hour flight and some issues at customs, I arrived to 32°C weather and it was only 9am!

The Shangri-La Hotel, The Marina, was the perfect location to stay at with a view of the marina as well as the being under the flight path of flights arriving and departing Cairns.

Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Brooch (Fuschia)

I have waited for the Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Brooch for a long time. New Zealand didn't get many of the Graffiti SLG's, so when I went to Sydney I had to choose between the Graffiti Tie or the brooch. I ended up with the tie and said goodbye to the brooch forever.

By chance, I was looking at the Graffiti items on the Louis Vuitton website and noticed that the Graffiti Brooch was still available for purchase online. I immediately emailed a friend in LA to check the availability in stores, only to find that the only store with stock was in New York.

As my NZ issued credit card wouldn't work on the Louis Vuitton website, I was offered the chance to get my brooch by having my friend order it online and for me to meet up with her when I was in LA to collect and pay for it! Of course I jumped at the chance and now I am the proud owner of, what could possibly the only one in New Zealand, the Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Brooch.

While I was at Rodeo Drive to collect my brooch, I picked up the 2010 refill for my Agenda which will hopefully be my last purchase for a while!

I bought myself the Louis Vuitton 2010 Los Angeles City Guide as an early Christmas present. Flying out to Los Angeles tonight at 11:00pm, after an hour in the sky it will be Christmas Day in New Zealand. Because of the time difference, I will be landing in Los Angeles at 2:00pm on Christmas Eve!

Los Angeles is one of the cities that was added to the already collectable Louis Vuitton City Guide books for 2010. It includes the usual 500+ addresses of places around Los Angeles worth a visit, under headings such as Restaurants, Good Things, Designer Fashion, Bars, Nightlife, Galleries and Excursions.

Also included are "My Los Angeles" pages from well known residents. One of particular interest to me is the one by actor Alan Dale as he was born in New Zealand and grew up in the area where I live; we both went to the same school, not at the same time obviously although he was there around the same time as my Aunty!

Another little book to add to my Louis Vuitton travel collection. I have the Tokyo City Guide from my trip last Christmas, and Carnet de Voyage notebooks for Sydney, Tokyo, New York, London, Paris and Beijing.

With prices for the same dates as the grabaseat fares, today was an online frenzy with THOUSANDS of people vying for bargain $1 + tax tickets to their favourite destinations.

With only 10 tickets to each destination, I was LUCKY enough to beat 15,000+ people online at the time to get 2 tickets to Los Angeles! I'm so surprised the website didn't crash with a record number of people online trying to book.

Unfortunately, the grabaseat website doesn't hold tickets so you can get to the last step of putting in your credit card details and then sitting on the edge of your seat to find that you were too late and the seats have gone. Luckily for me that didn't happen this time!

Is it pure luck that I've managed to get 4 $1 + tax tickets in the last 3 weeks??? Wonder what is in store next Friday for the last Friday of their $1 November promo!

Today I visited the Tian Tan Buddha on Lantau Island. To get there I took a trip on Ngong Ping Cable Car, a 5.7km long bi-cable gondola lift taking about 25 minutes. The cable car has amazing views of Hong Kong International Airport so was a great trip for an aviation enthusiast such as myself.

Thanks to the great Grabaseat website, I was able to score a trip to Hong Kong next week for $72.10! To complete their month of 100 domestic flights for $1 each day in October, they had international deals for $1 + tax.

There were only 10 seats and with over 7,000 people online at the time trying to get them I was super lucky! Current price for the same flights is $2,070.60. Will be going for a week and fantastic timing since it's my birthday on Monday. So will be able to spend the following 7 days in Hong Kong and I'm actually really excited about having the time to look around properly as last time I really only had 1 day because of the weather!

And if that wasn't all, I was even LUCKIER to book a ticket for my brother to Los Angeles next week for $122! There were only 10 seats available too and with the normal price at $2,320.30 thats a bargain as well! His flight leaves an hour before mine and he gets back Tuesday week.

Grabaseat has been good to me in the past, where I've had cheap flights to Wellington ($1), Queenstown ($1), Melbourne ($208), Shanghai ($550), San Francisco ($898) and now I can add Hong Kong to the list!

Got myself a copy of a japanese magazine that features 114 pages nearly entirely of the Louis Vuitton Mens collection from a number of seasons, including bags, SLGs, some RTW, and other things such as VIP gifts. There is also a great 2 page spread of all the canvas and materials they have used with pictures, including Monogram Groom, Cuir Suhali, Graffiti, Conte de Fees, Monogram Mesh and Eye Love Monogram.

I'm having a lot of fun going through the magazine and seeing things I own like the Soana Trotteur and Force Damier Graphite belt, and also seeing things I haven't really noticed before, like how in the Monogram Groom collection, the jaune and white stripe colour was the only colourway to have the colour first followed by white. All the other stripes had white/off-white and then vert, orange, bleu or rouge.

I stood watching a street artist using spray cans to create artwork for over 2 hours before I finally asked him to do a special one for me. It took me that long to decide what I wanted painted, as every one he did was different and I liked different parts of each. With a large crowd around every time he did one and being sold basically straight away by people who saw what he was doing, I was lucky that I got one made exactly to how I wanted and it turned out perfect!

I asked him to do lots of planets which I thought looked amazing after seeing the techniques he used to make them, and I loved the way he did the shadows on the pyramids so wanted them on the bottom. He added in the UFO himself which I think is a very nice touch!

The last picture was taken right at the end of the night after they had packed up, it was alot busier than that! There was a jazz band playing, as well as displays with turntables on them displaying the mens collection including the Macassar Soft Briefcase and the Beaubourg Sac de Sport, as well as record covers and the records that came with the invitation.

The storefront was converted to look like a jazz club with posters of records on the walls, and one of the mens wall display was also changed to the Jazz Night theme, with black backing and record covers placed between the stock.

Of course there was free flowing Moët as well as an interesting ginger cocktail. Was a fun night!

Some shots from the Louis Vuitton Book Set I bought at the Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of Art. The Book Set came as a set of 3 books: LOUIS VUITTON AND ART; FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON POUR LA CREATION: THE COLLECTION, A CHOICE; and FONDATION LOUIS VUITTON POUR LA CREATION: THE ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT.

Each book has its own colour (Yellow, Orange, Green) which is shown in the edges of the pages and the font for the Chinese characters within the books, and is housed in a perspex case. The front of the books have their title embossed in English, while the back has the title embossed in Chinese characters.

After a couple of weeks of looking at flight options, I finally booked my ticket to Manila. Instead of my preferred AKL-SYD-MNL//HKG-AKL route, I booked the above itinerary including a 10 hour visit to Perth, a place I haven't been to yet.

I've also never been to Hong Kong, or wanted to go there before. But as the Hong Kong Museum of Art is exhibiting Louis Vuitton: A Passion for Creation, I thought I would stop and have a visit. It will also give me a chance to do all the touristy things such as visiting Lantau Island and Victoria Peak, and taking the ferry across to Macau. I don't think I can handle the markets, so I will stick to the shopping centres.

By the end of this trip, I should have 14 more stamps to my passport, and visited 4 cities I've never been to before.

Weekend trip to Queenstown to farewell Qantas from flying domestically in New Zealand. Having to choose between an economy window seat on the right hand side providing the best views on this route, or in business class on the aisle was a tough decision, but in the end I went with business class and was still able to see out the windows on both sides of the plane. I was also able to see the fake Louis Vuitton bag the person sitting across from me had. Wonder why she was staring me up and down when I got on board with my LV carry on bag, messenger bag, and boots...

I wanted the Louis Vuitton Faux Semblant Carre sunglasses in the window, but they didn't have the black ones and I didn't want the tortoise ones as they had been on display, so left empty handed.
